Live capture in the desktop app

The Live pages — PvE, PvP, Gathering, Dungeons and Loot tracking — only work in the desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux. On the web they show what each page does and a download link.

How it works

The app reads the game's network traffic on your computer, on the game's ports only. It never touches the game client and injects nothing. The footer dot shows the state of the capture: connected while game packets arrive, waiting when the game is silent, off, or an error.

Setup

  • Windows: install Npcap (free), then restart AO Manager.
  • macOS: pick the .dmg for your chip (aarch64 for Apple silicon, x64 for Intel). On the first launch macOS blocks the app, which is not notarized by Apple: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Packet access must then be granted once; the first-run setup explains how, then restart AO Manager.
  • Linux (Debian, Ubuntu and derivatives): the .deb package allows the capture when it installs. If the capture still fails, run sudo setcap cap_net_raw=eip /usr/bin/ao-manager in a terminal, then restart AO Manager.

The first-run setup has a Test capture step, and you can run the setup again from Settings → About.

What each page shows

  • PvE: damage, healing and DPS of you, your party, your guild or everyone in sight, the spells behind it and each fight.
  • PvP: both sides of each fight, with kills, deaths and the loot that changed hands.
  • Gathering: what you or your party harvest, per hour and valued at market prices, with saved sessions to compare routes.
  • Dungeons: floors, time, fame, silver, kills and loot value of each run, with a history.
  • Loot tracking: what every player in sight picks up, valued at market prices, checked against your guild chest log.

Set your character name in Settings → Live capture so the feed follows you; leave it empty to see everyone.

Privacy

Private mode is on by default: nothing leaves your computer. Turning it off shares the market prices and orders you browse, market history and gold prices anonymously with the Albion Online Data Project, without character names or ids. Session summaries stay in the app's data folder.
